Something sordid this way comes

Saw two interesting items in the Post Fall book preview:

Anne Rice is coming out with a fictional look at Jesus, and it looks to be the first of a new series. I dread to think how much crap we are going to get from the fundies over this. With Robertson in hiding, perhaps Falwell will issue the fatwa against her. Bonus points to the first one to retroactively link Katrina to the book.

Wonkette is coming out with a novel as well. If you know her site (if you don't, you should) then you know you are going to get lots of good lefty political humor and plenty of back door action.

Could be worse. Imagine the hue and cry if she wrote about boyhood trials and tribulations of Mohammed instead.

M-O-O-N, that spells infidel!

Words of wisdom, b, words of wisdom. Instead of a flurry of controversy and resultant increased book sales, Ms. Rice would likely get the slice and dice treatment that the late Theo Van Gogh received.

Or she could write a Bildungsroman featuring a young Baphomet, thereby getting all the Templars all astir.

Maybe that explains the decline of Katherine Neville, the Templars whacked her after the Eight and she was replaced by a fake Neville.

I wonder if someone were to pen a book about the life of the pre-Enlightenment life of the Buddha. Perhaps a shy bald Buddhist would reflect and plan a mass murder.
