Good news? Bad news?

Jeff Long's Descent is one of the best thrillers of all time. I didn't expect a sequel to this epic but here it is. Normally I would be elated, but the Publisher's Weekly review isn't very keen.

I loved Descent as I read it, but looking back, its pretty ridiculous, caves and rivers under the Pacific? Why weren't they flooded or flattened by the mass of stone and water above? Anyway, put reason aside and its a pretty good book.
Wait, I remember another thing that bothered me: the hadals wiped out entire armies that descended then became a weak and ineffectual people?

I'll probably get this sequel - I've bought a few books on your say-so -and I'm satisfied with my choices. I think Amazon has a widget or something so they'll give you a commission on books people buy linked from your site. I could be way off but you should look into it.

Yes, I would say that the willing sense of disbelief is fairly important in the case of Descent.

Thanks for the idea about the Amazon. I am slightly torn about it, as I would like to send traffic to Powells, but I don't think there is a means of recompense. Anyway, I will investigate and I am glad you liked the books.

Wow, am I dense. Powell's does have a program, off to implement. Amazon as well.
