I always hesitate to read long book recommendations from indie booksellers and bloggers, not because I don't appreciate their opinions but because I so often find things I want to add to the piles of books that threaten my house (and marriage). So it was with some trepidation that I read Slate's
list of less-known fiction gems. Alas, it looks like there are some good ones in there. The Chagall book looks especially good, in a Kavalier and Clay kind of way. I wonder if I have any room left under the bed?
Read Any Human Heart. It is, in fact, the Bomb.
ReplyDeleteI lean towards reading Tyler Cowen and Jessa Crispin's recommendations as I enjoy their blogs.
